In good shape? Like working outdoors? Think about a career as a meter reader. You will need a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. You may walk up to 10 miles a day as you visit various sites. You will be required to check that the meter is ok and the site is safe. Then you will enter meter readings into a handheld data capture device. You will be handling some people’s keys and occasionally meet with customers or their pets. You will need to speak English well, while any additional languages are a definite bonus. We will test your proficiency and, if you qualify, train you to read meters. Olameter is currently interested in hiring experienced utility locator technicians. The ideal candidate should have at least 6 months experience locating various utility lines including gas, phone, cable TV, etc. Must have a good driving record and pass a criminal background check and drug screen. Qualified candidates must also have the desire to work outdoors, have good computer skills, and have the ability to work independently. Salary is dependent on experience level.
